Seminar Information
The Futures Trading Seminar is a ten day non-residential course. There is
a first five day week, followed by a two week break, then a second five
day week. A two week stretch is too much for me and the students. I find
a break in between suits my style of teaching.
I am told by previous students that this structure allows them to pick
things up to maximum effect. The tuition fee is £5,000 payable in
advance of the course date. The location and timing of seminars is
determined by current demand. Use the contact form to register your
interest and you will be advised of the current timetable.
Seminar Content
The course is designed for complete newcomers to trading and will cover
all aspects of my methodologies and thinking structures. You will come
away with a total understanding of what you need to do in order to make a
success of speculating on price differences. Generally people get very
confused with investment and speculation. We are speculating on price
difference within the day on one of the big liquid indices. We are not
investors.
All the issues will be openly discussed and students are able to ask and
get sound answers to all their questions. We are technical analysts not
economic fundamental analysts. Do you know the difference? We examine the
implications of price levels and a variety of techniques we use to profit
from them. We seek out trades where the risk is low and contained and the
reward is high.
We examine how to control ourselves. How to deal with losses and what
they tell us. Aftercare and personal development. The link between the
cash and the futures markets.
How to deal with typical problems facing new entrants to this world.
Black box discussions. How the trading environment is so very different
from the normal environment. We discuss the implications of operating in
the two different environments. Duncan's trading methodology. We are
searching for high profit, low risk well defined moves. How do we find
them? You will find out.
Understanding what is going through the minds of other traders. There are
some very hard thinkers who can display their thoughts in a variety of
ways. The course is designed to be interactive. Furthermore we will cover
a further range of issues that I do not wish to mention until during the
seminar.
You will need a live data feed. Say £2000 per annum - more detailed advice
as regards data feeds will be part of the course. Real time charting
software costs around £2,500 which includes installation and back up support.
You'll also need to budget for a minimum of £5000 as startup trading capital.
