These are a selection of course appraisals from past seminars.

General - a good, friendly, informal atmosphere was an aid to concentration and learning. A balance of chart analysis and trading psychology helped keep the interest and emphasised the importance of the correct state of being required to trade successfully.

Facilities - a quiet location, with no interrruptions and distractions provided it to be ideal for learning a brand new subject.

Pace- having very few breaks away from learning meant that a significant amount of ground could be covered in a day. This matched my style of learning. Beware of continuing teaching beyond the classes attention span; especially at the end of the day when members are tired.

Structure - felt that the informal approach, with no written agenda, worked fine. Sometimes dwelt too long on passages from books which were similar to the message being given by previous books. Nevertheless, this emphasised that trading and life itself can be improved by the correct mental, positive approach. The group size was great for exchange of views. No-one was afraid to express a question or opinion.

Content - all the expected topics were covered. Perhaps more time could have been devoted to slowly going through the charts and trying to explain every action. Try to explain terminology, rather than expect people know what words mean like..."loading up". An afternoon of seeing live trading, coupled with DR's comments, would have been useful and perhaps very important. An important factor is being encouraged that this is all possible for you in particular. This is motivational.

Conclusion - an excellent introduction to a difficult subject handled in an ideal environment with the correct number in the class. Do not assume everyone knows the terminology. It is re-assuring to know that you will help pupils after the 2 week seminar.

Pace - Good.

Place - Great.

Structure - First day was slightly confused at first at the relevance of talking about the stock market and news (ie did not see how the long scale had to do with day trading, but it all fell into place on the 2nd and 3rd days when I realised the long term markets have the same features as the short term day trades.) Other than this - good. Liked the arrangement of charts/discuss other things.

Content - Good. I like the extra reading material, i.e. things which give extra theories to test - this allows us to form our own flavour of trading, using your strategies with small personal tweaks. Was not told at first that stops could be gone through - and only on final days was told that they could be shot through (and limits were always exact). This I thought was quite an important point which I almost missed. I liked having a long reading list for extra books.

Group Size - Nice, enabled good discussion.

Teaching Style - Liked the fact we could interrupt and ask questions about points we were unsure of. Sometimes you asked us if we should do something or other - this should be more your decision, as with many of these things we were in the dark and you as the teacher would know what was best.

General - Liked the relaxed nature of the course - i.e. we had time to discuss other topics/subjects but which where nevertheless, interesting and relevant to the subject in general.

Overall - Good. Will have to reserve some judgment though until after starting papertrading. Was confidence building to actually meet a successful trader. This enabled me to think - if he can do it - then I should be able to. If I had never met such a person, they would still be more of an unreal thing - a successful day trader - do they exist. If I had just read a book about it, I would feel less confident - but now I know people can make a success of it. I just hope I can join them. I like the fact we have the availability of further contact to discuss any further queries we have.

Conclusion - I now feel well armed to attack paper trading and hopefully when I am successful at this, moving onto making some reasonable money.

General - The choice of venue was excellent and made easier due to a member of the course being an employee of the hotel group. This meant that you and the students could concentrate on the contents of the course itself.

The pace of the course went from fast to slow bordering on stopped and then fast again. Confusing to the students who would have preferred a steadier pace. However, having now watched the market move so slowly and then without warning, to the trained eye, rapidly change direction with large movements this pace prepared for what was to come. Your knowledge of the markets allowed coverage of a large amount of information that although daunting was transferred in an easily absorbed manner.

The group mix was ideal. Eight people from totally different backgrounds and ages yet all had something in common. All had reached a stage in life when they knew there had to be something else and had almost by accident stumbled across the idea of trading for a living. This difference and commonality ensured topics would be discussed to the full and maximum benefit achieved.

Now onto gripes Although I understand the presentation of HOOTS as a live working software package has its difficulties perhaps part completed charts would be of benefit i.e. If this is how the chart looks now, what happens next??

Whilst it is understood you are professional trader not trainer there are areas that could easily be improved. Use of an overhead projector would eradicate the problem of having to walk around the class showing the same point in a chart to each person. Although photocopies of the charts were provided main points would be better highlighted by use of OHP. Also an old complaint please use bookmarkers to assist you in finding relevant passages.

Summary - An enjoyable and worthwhile course?? Certainly. Financially worthwhile?? Who Knows? A lot of money to be paid up front, but hopefully in 6 months or so it will be a drop in the ocean. Achieving financial security along with the freedom that working from home for ones self brings will make it a price worth paying.

Content - Very comprehensive and informative.

Analysis of charts most interesting element - can never look at too many (time permitting). Precis of some text books very interesting, but those less relevant to actual trading actions could be omitted and left for reading later, leaving time for more relevant matters.

Presentation - Generally good, although numbering of charts and placement into correct order prior to copying and distribution would have helped and saved time. Despite your reservations, acetates on OHP would help clarify which bar/day/point is being referred to in specific examples during analysis to eliminate any confusion.

Group Size - 6 ideal for meaningful discussions. Nice mix of people, no pretentions, all with same aim and working together.

Venue - Non resident, therefore no comments re hotel itself, but Seminar Room comfortable and ideal size. Geographically OK from personal view.

Possible Improvements - 'Hands-on' experience of using/applying software would have been invaluable in removing some of uncertainties discussed during seminar, to enable easier/less problematical start-up when on own.

I think the course was very well put together and I was introduced to the trading of futures in a very stimulating manner.

Duncan's approach was a gradual build up of knowledge about the technical analysis of how the markets work, the cash cannon, price actions, how to read charts.

This was interspersed with reading from books all of which were confirming what you were being taught.

I think this was a very good method which kept driving home the importance of 'getting your head round all the information' until you are able to act intuitively.

I will be reading all the books recommended to increase my knowledge of this fascinating subject and help me on my way to a better future.

I really appreciated the way Duncan pressed on with the seminar, even though he was suffering from a very bad cold.

I feel I have been given a chance to make a big difference in my life, and would recommend the course to anyone who has the commitment to 'go for it'

The cost was well worth it. Thank you Duncan, very much.

Location - Was good for room size too number of students but hotel services was a bit hit and miss.

Group Size - I believe the group size was ideal for the subject, plenty of interaction and comment (good mix of people).

Content - Overall the content was an excellent mix of discussion and practical, however the charts could have been better structured, or numbered more clearly because there were times when I was confused because I was looking at the wrong chart. I would have been happier if you had outlined at the beginning of week 1, a rough agenda of what you were going to cover. My concern was that you might not cover the things that I was interested in, but maybe the others weren't. By setting out an agenda it meant that if there was something I wanted to learn about that wasn't covered during the 2 weeks, I could raise my point early and you had time to address my concerns.

Presentation - It would have aided the sessions if the charts had been projected onto the screen/wall. We were a small group but following the logic of your statements was not always easy on the small paper prints

Style - Your style and tempo were fine by me as the days always seemed to pass too quickly.

Value for Money - 8 out of 10. Excellent explanations of how the markets work.

Comments - I have been trading for over a year now and went on the course because I wanted to be knocked back into shape. The course certainly has achieved that and it was as if I have been trading blind up till now.

It has given me a through understanding of market behaviour and what makes markets move. I now know why 80% of people who trade are loosing money. The key has been learning how to read the charts using technical analysis. I am totally confident that with the knowledge I have gained on this course, coupled with a lot of hard work, I can make money consistently in the markets.

Ten days seemed like a long time for a course but when one realises how complex the whole subject is, it was the correct duration.

I would totally recommend the course to anyone because to learn all of this on your own could be extremely painful and very costly.

Duncan has been very helpful and I'm sure if I have any problems in the future, he will continue to be so.

Course Content - the course concentrated mainly on the following:

Technical analysis - This subject was covered throughout the course. As speculators we need to be good at reading the charts and the discussions have helped greatly. We have been through hundreds of charts during the ten days.

Emotions/Discipline - A large content of the course rightly concentrated on how, we as traders, must adopt the correct emotional setup to secure our success. Duncan's own experience together with many examples of others were drummed into us. We were given good guidelines of how to control our emotions.

I found the course refreshing after being battered around by previous courses and the markets themselves.

You taught clearly the issues one needs to keep in mind in trading, namely, how the markets REALLY work. This has never been explained to me before by trainers, brokers or even other traders. I think they either don't KNOW the reality of market movements or they don't WANT to tell anyone else!

I am extremely grateful to you for giving me the 'professionals' knowledge, and this will undoubtedly give me the necessary "edge" I have previously lacked.

The content is good - 2 weeks hard work indeed - but the pace helps us to digest the content. You could implement methods to make your course more "glitzy" but this (perhaps) would only put it in the category of those other commercial companies who are more concerned about making money rather than training up new traders to be a success.

My only recommendation would possibly be to add a "live" day, where the group can see prices [real or mock] unfold and discuss what trades they could make.

Many, many thanks

Peter

Going on the seminar has been an inspiration to me. I was trading prior to this and was just fumbling around, not really fully understanding what I was doing. Now I have a clear strategy of how to make plenty of money. My first trade just netted me £1050 and that is two days since the seminar! At this rate I will be making well over £100k in the first year alone (but really there is no limit to earning potential when you are getting it consistently right). Now that I have time to reflect on the price of the course, for the amount of knowledge and information that has been transferred, I think £5000 is very cheap. In comparison to other seminars which scratch around on the surface, this is the real thing.

Duncan was really great at explaining all the details of market movements and how best to profit from them. He has certainly been around the markets for long enough to know the tricks. He was very friendly and I know he will always be there to help. He strives for his students to be hard working, flexible and to maintain a steady state of mind because he knows these three ingredients are the recipe for success. He does not enforce the belief that everyone is going to be a millionaire from trading but I am confident that if all his students did exactly as he says they could be!!

The seminar was ten days long, 5 days, then a two week break and then another 5 days. Throughout, we were taught relentlessly how to read the charts (technical analysis). We studied the charts to the point where we (the students) were able to stand up and talk our way through a profitable trade. We were able to do this because we understood the information the charts presented to us. We learnt a lot about the emotional side of trading and how we can best secure our chances of success by preparing our mental state.

So from the point where I was scratching to make a living from trading, I now have the confidence to go forward and make an extremely healthy income. I urge anyone who is toying with the idea of going on the seminar to hurry and sign up, this information is too valuable to miss out on.
